Rear Wheel Bearings - Replace - CBR1000F
Rear Wheel Bearings - Replace - CBR1000F ((There are many great videos on Youtube, but this is CBR1000F specific and may be helpful to first timers - and an alternate view for those who have done it before).
Download document (many quality pictures ) from link below [40 pages may take some time depending on your internet service].
Additional notes to workshop manual and attached photos..
1. Buy quality bearings (Made in Japan – not China [‘All *****” are Chinese]] << I use Rear Wheel Bearings - QTY 1 of 6305-2NSE9 & QTY 2 of 6304-2NSE9 made by NACHI >>
PLACE BEARINGS IN FREEZER FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS (OVERNIGHT FOR ME) TO ASSIST IN FITTING.
2. Remove rear wheel – note wooden block under wheel to assist – push with foot.
3. Place some plastic wedge between brake pads to avoid inadvertent operation. (Good time to check pads for wear).
4. Use a Rubbish bin as a suitable table to work on wheel.
5. Check Cush Rubbers for excessive wear. Page 15
6. Page 16 – O ring
7. Page 17 – 18. On the drive side - there is a 1mm lip so when replacing the bearing make sure you achieve the same seating.
8. Page 21 – 23. On the disk side - there is a 7mm lip so when replacing the bearing make sure you achieve the same seating.
9. Page 24 – good time to check your disk for serviceability thickness – must not be less than 4mm (just made it!)
10.Page 25 – Bearing removed from Drive Side – Looking through wheel you can see the small lip of the disk side bearing. (I could not remove this with hammer and drift and had to go to workshop to have press remove it).
11.Page 28 – drive side with new bearings.
12.Page 31 – Replace seal.
13.Page 33 – 34. I find the wheel very difficult to get back in. My method is to start with the disk side and locate / align with a suitable tool before replacing the axle from the drive side.
14.Page 34 – 38. Adjust chain.
15.Page 39 – 40. Lubricate chain.
16.Your done! Have a beer and go for a ride!

Fantastic 'How To' yet again Naga - very well done,- but I do have just a couple of questions......................................... .....
1. Just how much time do you spend cleaning your motor bicycle? I would happily eat my dinner off your rear wheel, or sprocket carrier (inside and out!) or off your chain, or swingarm or...........
2. Couldn't you have got an assistant who wore bikinis (or not ) to keep my interest just a little more focussed? The assistant in the pictures definitely looked like a bloke - and he needed a shave at that
But again, a job bloody well done!
Cheers, SB

"You'll have the appropriate tool close at hand" ....................
Come to think of it Naga, I think you may have it right - I NOTICED how clean everything was because you DIDN'T have a bikini clad bloke
Look forward to the lamb - we have a freezer full of the little beasties
Cheers, SB
