bored,, so done a weeeeee "how to!"
KEEP IT SIMPLE SUCKER (K.I.S.S.)
charging connector,, 2 wires with a fuse link from the battery to the right side pannel(making sure the +terminal has insulator cover)
.make up a link wire and connect it to a plastic strip with the terminals seperated
.my bike is always in the same spot, so i mounted it so it would swivel either way
.now connect it up (the right way)
i done it with a link so as not to disturb the chargers original fittings, incase i need the charger elsewhere
.connect the bike
. and complete (i fitted a timer plug to charge 300ma 4/ times a day for half an hour..... see how that goes for a week or two, checking it with a multi-metre,, and prob decrease it in the warmer weather. need to see how that bit goes.

Hi, I've done this before on some of my bikes but thanks for letting other people know about it too. I'm afraid i have to agree with Hawkwind with regards to the optimate. For simple ease of use you can't beat it, and you can leave it on all winter, or all year round if you like. Also, optimate seem to bring a new model out about once a week (exageration), so you find the older models for sale very cheap on some websites
Busters motorcycle accessories in the UK often sell them off for about £20
Thanks for the post though, it's nice to see someone elses twiddling

+1 on the optimate - Got mine last year for £22 - been superb this winter at keeping the battery tip top.
I find standard chargers seem to boil batteries dry over winter.

thanks lads,
big difference is this cost me chit all, all lying about anyway, and the timer plug is about 10 years old,as i upgraded to digital where this old one was just push pegs.(far easier)
a couple of friends have had the optimate's and 3or4 years later the plugs went brital and broke off / or someone nicked them, so they ended up sticking on terminals anyway.
