Im not sure about your micron. My vance and hines was only 4 alan head bolts. And the end cap was a pain in the a$$ to get off. It may be welded...and in this case your better off just buying a shorty or leaving it the way it is.
I just used steel wool as packing. I bought the scrubbies from sears and unrolled them then wrapped it around the baffle.
I didnt even bother to drill and rivet the cap back on. It was hard enough to get back on I dont think it will be a problem. But if it is, I will just seal it with silicone and drill and rivet it back on.

I found out how to take the micron apart. There is a hex screw inside the exhaust outlet which secures the cap to the cans shell. Im not sure how i would shorten mine because the part for where the endcap screws into the core tube cannot be removed. Maybe i can take the can apart and cut it off from the bottom.

i did cut down my micron 5 inches off the bottom. i actually cut it right on the backside of the hanger so i could get rid of the scratched up part of the can. I then cut out 5 inches out of center tube then using a torch i brazed it back together. if you dont have an oxy act torch you probably cant do it. i suppose jb weld would work though
