Quick frame slider install

I removed the fairing and used a laser pointer mounted to a camera tripod to mark the exact center of the engine mount bolt head. Reinstalled the fairing and marked the red dot location with a Sharpie. Drilled a small pilot hole and looked through it to be sure it was still dead on centered with the bolt head before cutting the 2-inch big hole. Turned out nice.

I have heard the same thing about the no cuts so I ordered some carbon look delrin ones off of ebay. Just got them yesterday. Thanks everyone for the different ideas on how to install them. Will post up pics once done.

Another thing you wanna do, if you want no gap, is cut at a slight angle, the fairing is not perpendicular to the slider (not a 90 degree angle). I bought 1 3/4 sliders and a 1 3/4 hole saw and after putting my first guiding hole through, I taped up the decals around where I was going to cut and brought in the hole saw at an angle. Not all of the hole saw is cutting at first.

I just did Shogun frame sliders last night. After reading their directions on shogun.com, I wasn't about to buy their marking bolt
Marking the hole to use a hole-saw was pretty easy:
I looked around the garage and found that my Sharpie mini marker fit right inside the bolt hole and stuck out enough to mark the inside of the fairing panel. Mock the panel up with some masking tape over the general area on the INSIDE of the panel, mock up the panel and give a little thump over where the marker sticks out. Disassemble the panel and find your center drill location. Tape the outside of the panel before drilling. Drill a small pilot hole from the inside where your mark was then remove the tape. with the hole saw at an angle as describe above using a hole saw as close to the same size as your sliders.
