Im thinking about doing this but do they actually light up the road at night? this is probably a dumb question but it just seems like a little LED wont provide "a light at the end of the tunnel."

Anybody thought about just using EL Wire?
It's flexible, can be cut to any length, and very bright throughout. Also fairly cheap...$2-$3/foot. You can just bend it around, cut it to the length you want and connect it.
