Default How to check cam chain length ‘87 600F

Hi there, I am building a 1987 cbr 600f (Germany).
I cannot find any instructions on how to check length of cam chain or the smaller oil pump chain. The latter is quite loose in my opinion.

isn't there a way to measure each length to check if it needs to be replaced?

thanks a lot
markus

I don't know of anyone that has actually measured one. They just go by the number links in the chain, so you just count them. I'd be really surprised it yours was stretched to the point it needed replacing.

Thank you, thought so too. Completely tore it down to all bits and pieces, though. I messured everything by the book. Wear is minimalistic. Great bike.

Please check my post about the 1000F as well :-)

thx,
Markus
