Default Why does the cbr100 come with a steering damper?

Has anyone had any luck with that thing at all? I think its a pile and it doesnt work at all. I dont mean to be mean or anything, but putting a safety item like that on a bike that is unreliable is a really big liability isnt it? and morally incorrect? maybe i m venting but has anyone liked it?

I think he's talking about the Electronic Steering Damper on the CBR1000RR.

I had a buddy that says that it saved him once from a bad tankslapper.

Man, if the ride is crappy with your damper on - then what is it like when you take it off? Or can't you remove it?

Are you sure there isn't a bigger problem than the damper itself?

all i can say is this, this is the first bike i've had with a dampener, and it's the smoothest bike up to 140 that i've ever ridden (haven't gone past 140 yet), so i guess to me it works pretty good

Yeah I knew what he meant, I was just playin'.

Like **** said, what happened that made you put a hate-on on the damper? You sure it's working properly?

Just a thought guys...Holden threw out that bait and we bit. He's a new forum member w. about 9 posts. It doesn't even appear that he's still reading this thread. He posted a poll and the question isn't even clear to ANY of us. I'm going to unsubscribe from this thread. PEACE.
