what is wrong with the starting?
so my bike that i have been trying to get running is turning and trying to start, makking a chugging but just wont kick in. i sprayed some starter fluid in the carbs on multiple occasions and gave it gas a lot but dont want to flood it and it still wouldnt fire up. i could tell that i think the spark plugs were working because i could see exhaust being expelled from the carbs clearly enough to see what the firing order was. im just at a loss of what is wrong here
I would be hard pressed to believe that compression or valve clearance has anything to do with it unless someone was inside the motor messing around. Check for spark first to confirm a no spark situation. If there is no spark, message back and I will try to help you troubleshoot.
i just bought a 87 CBR600 and it wont start either. it turns over and has spark. what should i check next? will an automotivecylinder compression gauge work,or will i need a special adapter? any links how to check the valve clearances? thanks
