It restricts flow at lower rpms for better low end torque according to Honda. I'd say it's probably more emissions/noise related.

Every aftermarket pipe I've sen recomends or requires it to be disconnected. Just remove the cables and tie them up outta the way, but still so that the cables can stil move in and out or else the malfunction light comes on.

No aftermarket slip-on pipe retains the exhaust valve. And don't just tie them out of the way. Just take the cables out of the actuator and put them away with your stock pipe. That way you won't ever have to worry about throwing a malfunction code.

O2 sensor, I'm sure. I bought an O2 eliminator kit for my Micron exhaust...about $20.00

You're retarded. There is no 02 sensor on a Honda.

I might be retarded too - the Honda microfiche parts catalog says that the 600RR has had a SENSOR, OXYGEN since at least 2003. 2003-2004, the part number is 36531-MEE-611, while the 2005 SENSOR, OXYGEN is P/N 36531-MEE-D01. Prices are around $112 for the 03-04, and $110 for the 05.

Here is the link to the 2005 muffler assembly with the SENSOR, OXYGEN.

So much for the previous statement that no Hondas have O2 Sensors . . . . . .

Honda does have O2 sensors... on CA bikes. A lot of bikes do.

Chains Garmin avatar is real... he, in a former life, played with 300+ hp bikes.
