Default what happened?

i recently got an exhaust, k&n air filter, and jet kit installed in my 97 f3. I took it to a shop since i didnt trust myself with the jet kit, but when i got my bike back it seemed like someone had lengthed my throttle cable or something because before i had the work done i could open the throttle completely with just a full rotation of my wrist. now it seems that i cant open the throttle completely with almost 2 full wrist movements. can i just pull slack out of the cable to fix this or does anyone suggest another fix?

It sounds like your cable has excessive free play. There are a couple of spots to look for correct adjustment. The throttle cables outer jacket is clamped in place at the carb end. If you use a felt marker to mark its current position and then clamp its end farther from the carb you will remove some slack. With recent work on the jetting, my guess is the cable got clamped down too close to the carbs when they were re-installed.
The other spot is the adjusters on the throttle end.

rotate the throttle all the way closed, then open it. How much does the throttle turn before you can feel the carbs begin to open? As thrasher said... this is the freeplay. You should only have a slight amount of freeplay.
