Default What chain length going -1 +2 + othe Q's

I am gonna go -1 +2 on my 00 cbr f4. If the stock chain length is 110 as is is for my cbr, how many links should I add if changing sprocket sizes to what I am? Or should 110 be sufficiant?

Also, I am going to do this myself. How much will the alignment be off with the new gears? Do I really NEED to do a chain alignment, or will it stay pretty much dead on? Or am I just overreacting on this?

I have great mechanical skills, but this is my first adventure into the motorcycle world. So I am prety damn sure I can pull it off if I have the correct tools and guidence from you guys! Thanks in advance for the input.

Usually, with the -1 +2 you will be able to use the stock chain. Are you buying a new chain as well? If you are, tell the shop you are ordering from and they will recommended the length of chain you need. You're subtracting and adding so it'll equal out to about stock.

As for the alignment of the chain. You can use the marks of the swingarm as a guide, or count the turns on the bolts as you adjust the chain out. I've never used a tool to align the chain.

Cool I am pretty sure its straight forward. Cant be worse than the planes I work on.

I asked sprocket center the other day and they havnt replied to me yet. So I figured I would go here. Yes I am getting a new chain as well.

Stock chain length will work for you. You dont need any more lengths for that. Just make sure, when you put them on, dont crank that throttle very hard in 1st or it will stand right on its tail end.

HA yeah thats what I hear. I am a pretty new rider, but my chain and sprockets really need to be changed and dont want to regret not doing it later. I will just have to be real carefull. Thanks
