Default 97 FV chain length

Hi Guys

Having an issue here as i have recently bought a new chain and sprocket kit for my uk 97 cbr600 FV and the chain theyve sent me is 110 links long which according to the retailer and JT Sprockets is correct. However the chain that came off was 108 and the new one is too long (way too much slack with the wheel fully extended).

The retailer is saying they have provided the correct part even though it clearly doesnt fit right so i figured id come on here to ask what it should be and if anyone else has had the same issue?

Thanks Guys

108 links is the correct length. Chains are usually sold in standard lengths. 110 or 120 links. Then you're expected to cut the chain to the correct length for your specific bike. Easiest way is to use a grinder to grind off the rivet head and then use the chain breaker tool to push the pin/rivet out. You might be able to get a shop to cut the chain for a minimal charge, if at all. Anyway, this is all normal with replacing a chain. It's rare that the chain you buy will be the exact number of links for your bike.
