Jet Question
Just bought a '98 CBR 600 f3. While doing the needful of cleaning the carbs, I think I made a rookie mistake. I didn't realize that there are 2 different main jet sizes used. So I didn't think to keep them seperated. Is there a way to tell which ones are the 135 and 138? I'm a goob. I know.
Even though the bike is a 98, it's basically brand new. It only has 99 original miles on it. Bought it from the 1st owner who is a great friend. He decided bikes weren't his thing after buying it and it's been garaged the entire time.

Thanks. Is it obvious by eyeballing it which is actually bigger? I just discovered that I may have gotten them wrong by reading another thread. I'll have to remove them to be sure but I just wanted to get everything straight in my brain before I do this.
if all 4 were the same then either the outer two would run rich, or the inner two would run lean.
Jet kits (at least the ones I have seen) use all 4 jets being the same size. Because the mixtures for all 4 carbs needs adjusted, they will run the same.
This only applies IF a kit is installed, which I would suspect if there are no sizes written on it. PO's do things and forget to pass the info on to new owners.

Everything is bone stock. The previous owner is one of my beat friends. He bought the bike on a whim and after a couple rides he realized he likes 4 wheels better than 2
Its been in a garage ever since. I'll check out the jets for the stamp numbers.

It only had 88 on it when I bought it. :-) I put the other 11 on it while putting around the neighborhood trying to get the carbs sorted out.
It's black with the maroon stripes on it. I'm not sure what the official pattern is called.
I am going to replace the tank. My friend didn't lay it down but while it was in storage in his mom's garage she bumped it and it wound up leaning on one of those house jack things. It put a crease in the tank. I’m having a booger of a time finding a replacement of the proper color. So I’ve bought a red one of the proper year without dent’s, scratches or rust. As soon as I figure out which type, 4 or 5 of stripes I should buy, I’m going to strip and repaint it to match the rest of the bike. Since it is such a rare find as it pertains to mileage, I want to keep it as close factory as possible, at least for a while anyway.
