Default Vortex 15t front loose!

I've got a 03 600cc F4i and ordered a 520 conversion kit from Vortex but the front sprocket seems to have some play in it after I tighten everything down, can this be normal? I phoned the place I bought the kit from and they said the play was normal.

In what direction is the play. Latteral play side to side on the splined shaft is normal. Not a lot, but a little. There should not really be any play front to back in the direction of rotation. Slight, but not much to speak of.

Thanks for the reply... yes its lateral play (side to side) but it seems slightly more than the stock set-up.
