Default Vibration in bars

Hello everyone!
Is there anyone out here that knows of an inexpensive steering stabilizer, for a 1999 600F4??
I have looked, and I really don't want a top mount. I am getting tons of vibration in my right grip, and its putting my hand to sleep, and making my arm go numb!. (Not good!).....
You can really feel it at any RPM too. Even at idle.
What about bar end dampers?? Will those help?

Thanks for the input!

Why is vibration on one side (R)? Dis you check the fork's compression? Not normal if vibration only from one hand.

A steering stabilizer only prevents your handlebars from making long, rapid movements back and forth, such as preventing a tank slapper to stop you from loosing control of the bike. It does nothing for vibrations.

My guess is your bar end damper inside the handle bar came loose, or is not present. You should have bar end dampers from the factory on both sides. If you don't have any, get some. They do help quite a bit. But since only one bar is vibrating, I'm guessing that one is missing or loose.

Also, the putting your arm to sleep may be from the pressure you are putting on during your ride. The vibrations certainly aren't helping, but being your throttle hand, you can't adjust it as easily as you can your clutch hand so it takes the majority of your weight, therefore putting your arm and hand to sleep. You'll have to figure out a way to adjust your grip as you ride, or brace yourself more with your legs and take some of the load off your arms. Also, a lighter grip always helps. Don't death grip the throttle. Both of your hands should be a light grip with your legs doing some of the holding on.

Squid, thanks for the info!
I will check the bar damper tonight, as that was one of my thoughts.
I am trying to find an online parts/service manual for my bike. Any ideas??

Thanks again!

Try filling the bar tubes with silicone or great stuff. I've used it before with success.

There are links here on the forum for the online pdf version of the factory Honda service manual. Come on over to the F4 section...its been asked many times & you should be able to find one of a few links in that section.

Default Vibration fixed... should of known.....

Hello all,

Just an update, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the help!
I replaced the CCT, and vibration is G O N E
It was not that hard, considering it was buried in the bike.
Now, more upgrades to come.
HID head light, with "home made" intergrated turn signals.
Pics to follow one day! I need to get the parts around first!

Thanks again!
