Using current pads with new discs?
Hi, I put Brembo pads on around 1500 miles ago. I have bought new brake discs and about to install.
Is there any real problem with refitting the Brembos or is it just a case of gradually bedding them to the new discs? Or should I use new pads no matter what?
Plenty of meat on the Brembos and they're a great stopping pad IMO. New discs are wavey btw, if that makes any diff.?
Cheers.

I’ve sheared off a disc bolt with a torque wrench, my fault as I read it incorrectly and set it far too high, but felt at the time I was over tightening it. The lesson learnt is not always to use a torque wrench use your experience and instincts, when it’s tight it’s tight.

Torque wrenches are great, but most of us (me included), will not want to spend a fortune on a good one.

I only use them on head bolts, main caps, and connecting rod caps. All the places that accurate tightening for bolt stretch is crucial. The rest of the time I rely on my over 30 years of tightening stuff to do it just right.
Those pinch bolts get a snug with a wrench and that's it. The some safety wire just cuz.
