Urm ... funny noise, is it suppose to be there?
I have recently aquired my 1999 900 RRX and one of the first things i did was replace the chain and sprockets as they were completely dessimated.
Is was only on removal that i noticed the guy who had put on his lightened Renthol sprocket, last time it was changed, put it on inside out!
I fitted Honda part sprokets and a D.I.D chain. I adjusted it to the correct specs i checked the alignment of the chain etc as you do. Im not an idiot with these things as im a mechanic myself, although usually its on cars!
Now when i ride i can hear a whizz of the chain, is it meant to be like that???? its definately not too tight as i have double and triple checked. is it just the way it is?
This is the first superbike i have owned, before i had suzuki bandits and off road bikes and none made this noise. I live just round the corner from dobles so maybe its worth getting a technician to ride it to give his/her opinion on it. What do you guys think?

Yes. Ask someone to test ride it who knows the bikes. It may pay to check the clearance on the swing arm wher the chain emerges from the front sprocket. May be something rubbing around that area.
Chains do whizz a bit though but if it's annoying you your mechanic's hunch is to be followed.
Seek, find, rectify, enjoy!
