Default tire size questions

hey guys i just picked up some pirelli diablo rosso tires from a friend. he rides track only so he needed new ones but there good for me because i dont lean that much.

anyways i ride on the stock size 180 / 55 / 17 and the tires i bought are 190 / 50 / 17
i know that the 190 will fit but its the 50 im confused about, is the smaller size because of the wider tire or what.
and the ultimate question will these work on my stock rims?

50 is the aspect ratio of the sidewall. the side wall is 50% of the width on the 190. the other is 55% of the 180. 50%of 190 is about the same as 55% of 180, so it will be the same ride height, just a little wider.

Yeah, it'll fit.

Conversely, a lot of RC51 guys will routinely change from the oem 190/50 to a 180/55 b/c turn is better w/ the 180.
