Timing...Retard, or advance? whats what. and how can i use them for power or economy??
Any takers?

Depends. At sea-level, you may not want any advance which may cause pinging (detonation) and can damage the engine. At high altitudes, like Denver it may work well. For most Hondas, the aftermarket ignition advancers come in 2 or 4 degrees. They are simple to install, so why not try it and listen for pinging which sounds like marbles rattling in a can.

Unless you're talking cam timing. Advancing the intake timing and retarding the exhaust generates extra peak hp. Doing the opposite gives added acceleration off corners. For a more detailed explanation, look at Kevin Cameron's column in Cycle World's November 2005 issue.
