http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...579&rd=1,1
they are made from delrin... and thats all i so far..

i dropped my bike 2 days ago..... and i wanna make sure have sliders this time... *my wallet took a hit for a new fairing.*

but are these long enough?... will they protect the fairings at all?.... next time i fall i dont mind a few scratches that can get buffed or repainted... but completly shaved down farings will make me sad.

As far as im concerned sliders are sliders. I bought my buddies wo had dopped his bike twice. No damage just a little scuff on the sliders and the work fine for me. I dont know what they are made of but the look like the same kind i have. Just buy a set and your bike will be fine.

they aren't great, good sliders will have a good aluminum base to keep them from snapping off or breaking the bolt

spend the extra money on a good set of vortex, woodcraft, or pretty much any respectable brand

you get what you pay for and if crash protection is where you wanna skimp, go for it but I sure wouldn't suggest it

From your description on CBRWorld, it seems like it was much more than a drop. Also, from your description of the damage, I highly doubt frame sliders would've done anything.

but are these long enough?...
Longer isn't necessarily better. There is such a thing as too long. If its too long, the slider will have a moment arm that can snap the bolt and do even more damage.

As I said on CBRWorld, they are call frame sliders, not fairing savers. Whether or not you get extra protection is arbitrary, at best.

I've never bought anything but brand name, and fortunately ive never needed them either so cant comment there. However like fish kinda stated is it worth saving 10-15 bucks and finding out they are not good quality, id stick with a trusted brand name.

I use the Pro-Tek sliders (which are also Delrin). Went down at my favorite track doing about 55mph. The slider ground down a little but didn't break.
