tell me what you think of my motor (56k no way)
okay well this past friday my 954 ended up with a nasty "ticking/clunking" sound. almost like the number one valves were hitting the piston.. it got louder and faster as you reved it up.. so i took the motor apart and tell me what you think.. from the pics i posted you can see that it looks like the piston was actually hitting the head.. you can clearly see the clean parts on the edge of the piston and head. there is no bent valves. what do you think could cause this?? a rod bearing?? the was only 7k miles on the motor and pleanty of oil and i didnt really drive it any harder than anyone else drives theirs. let me know what you think.
Good to hear you caught it before it caused any serious damge (rod through the block)!! Although it really sucks that you had to tear down the bike though during the riding season

have a motor on lock for $700 bucks!! and its pretty local w/ 2800k miles.. so when i pull this motor i will fix it then hold on to it or sell it. as far as it being tore down for riding season i have a 929 im riding
