well i have had my08 cbr600rrfor two months and have put just over two thousand miles on her, i did my first service at 600 miles but my owners manual says i only need to change my oil every eight thousand miles from now on? this seems like a really long time seeing as in a car your suggested to change it every three thousand when your never at half the rpms as the bike. just wondering what others think about this and if you do your services different????

 

I change my oil every2000-2500 or so, that may be a bit picky though. I clean and relube my air filter every oil change. Clean, wax and adjust my chain if neededevery 500 miles or so. Plugs every 8-10k, i also like to run a fuel system cleaner every 8-10 tanks of gas (really hard to get good fuel now a days). I also clean my fuel filter every oil change too. I would also reccomend check thetire psi every month or so, theyare the what keeps your skin off the road. Again i am way more **** then most, i know it, i have seen other peoples bikes. However i like to keep my stuff running primo and in good mechanical shape.

 

These are Hondas man, you dont have to do anything and it will last many many years without problems. But yeah TK has some sound advice. I might use his service schedule from now on. Sounds pretty good.
