Default Stripping down front master cylinder

Hi -
has anyone done this? The front brake on my track bike is coming back a little further than it used to even with braided lines, new fluid and pads so I guess it might be time to renew the internals on my master cylinder? I've noticed that you can buy kits on the internet but I'm not sure how much of a job it will be to fit.

Has anyone done it before?

Thanks

From memory, if you remove the front brake lever from the master cylinder and look inside the bore where the piston and its seals sit, there should be a circlip preventing the piston from popping out. If there is remove it and you should be able to withdraw the piston, replace it and its seals with new items, after lubricating them with clean brake fluid. Re-bleed the brake and that's it. There is the slightest chance that the bore of the master cylinder may be worn, but hopefully it won't be unless of course there are obvious score marks etc on the bore and piston. Check this first before splashing out on the piston and seals, as you may need the master cylinder as well.
