Default Sticky Key

I have a 92' 600, and over the past couple months the key has become harder and harder to turn to the ignition position. I have to jiggle it for about 2 minutes before it finally turns. Do you think this is a mechanical problem, or will a couple shots of WD-40 fix it, or hurt it?

WD-40 may work, but you stand the chance of it collecting more dirt and gumming up the dirt that is already in there. It will probably work initially, but can add more problems later.

I would suggest trying powder graphite. You can also use whats called a dry lubricant that comes in an aresol can.. Its basically a graphite spray that will allow the graphite to get into the lock mechanism, just make sure it says graphite on the can.

It could just be a piece of gunk in there messing up the monkey-works. Give the lubes a shot first. If no worky-worky, don't temp being out someplace & getting stuck...just replace it.

Default new key

One thing you can do is get a new key made. There are some numbers and letters under your gascap that make up your key code. If you take code to a locksmith and get a key made, you can solve or at least narrow down the source of the problem.

I had to do this when I lost my only key (sucked).
