Default Stem valve BROKE OFF

I got my F2 running for the first time in about a year, and when I was trying to check and fill the tire pressure I noticed the rear tire was leaking from the stem valve... then it BROKE OFF when I tried to see what the problem was.

How much will it cost to get a bike shop to pull the tire off and put a new stem valve on? I'm trying to sell this thing and the price is going to be really low on account of it's a POS, but I doubt I'll be able to sell a bike that will barely roll.

I would guess 20 bucks, depending on if they have to completely remove the tire or not.

But as CBRme said, you may beable to do it yourself. If you can break the beed, you may be able to just break one side of the tire, depress the tire and get your hand in there to change it out.

The problem would be breaking it loose though. They can be tough to do.

You can brake the bead with a C-clamp, but there needs to be some air pressure in it. I personally used a floor jack, 2X4, and a car bumper to remove my old tires. Place the 2X4 on the jack (flat), and pinch the tire between the board and bumper (or anything that wont "give").

I would ask your local tire shop(automotive)if they can do it without removing the tire completely and install one for you.I used to do it for free where I worked at.Just take the wheel off and take it in.

For the record, the local sport bike shop's website says it does off-the-bike tire changes for $35. On the bike are $10 more.

Can a car tire place work on motorcycle wheels? I would have thought the equipment was different.
