Default Stator and R/R - Stock or Aftermarket?

I'm running an RM Stator and R/R in an '01 929RR. It was already in the bike when I bought it. My question to you is....are the factory pieces really that bad? It seems my stator and or r/r is bad and I'm trying to figure out if I want to replace it with another RM unit....or just go back to factory. The guy I bought the bike from says the factory units are junk....but would like to find out what the general consensus is among other riders. Help is greatly appreciated....

It's been my experience, as well as that of many others that many of the factory CBR R/R's are not very reliable. It seems that ones that come off of Suzuki GSX-R's work much better. I'm running one on each of my F3's currently. They have much better heat dissapation capability. I can't really speak for the 929's but I suspect it's the same. Check for feedback in that section to see what they've got to say.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already ordered a Rick's replacement stator and r/r by the time I read your reply. But if I have problems with it again, I'll try the GSX-R route....
