Default Stator issues, I think.

Not sure I posted in the correct sub, this is a tech question I guess but I posted in 929 sub just in case.
Hi all, again, brief synopsis, I rode for about an hour yesterday, on the motorway so keeping revs up. I had my lights on the whole time. I went in a shop, came out, totally flat battery. Bump started and rode home fine. The bike runs absolutely fine at low an high revs. Put in my other battery this morning and it started first try, however, with the lights off I'm getting 13V at idle and about 14.4 at around 5000rpm, with the lights on the battery voltage steadily drops at idle and barely holds around 12.6 at 5000 rpm. With the engine off I disconnected the stator from the regulator/rectifier and I get 3, 3.1 and 3.1 Ohms across the 3 outputs, the manual say between 0.1 and 1 is the range. Can I assume this all points to a failing stator and that the regulator is working?
Thanks.

hi. when testing the stator you may perform these 3 tests. resistance test, short to ground test and AC voltage output test. so you can get a good idea. in this video he shows how to perform those tests. it's a different bike but principle is the same. hope it helps

I changed the stator this afternoon and now get a healthy charging voltage with and without the lights on, there was a problem with every yard winding on the old stator. Hopefully that's it.

@Bensonboo Hmm, not sure what you're saying here? It didn't help after all?

Hi, sorry, posted without glasses. The problem is fixed now. The old stator was burnt on every third winding, I now get the correct voltages with and without the lights on.
Thanks.
