Default stator/battery/recifier issues

checking out the theads about charging systems and the similar issues i've been having. Here's what i've got. Battery wasn't keeping a charge. Listened to someone else's advice replaced the stator and recharged the battery. Bike fired right up. Tested the battery while idling and it read around 12volts then reved motor to between 3000 and 5000 rpms and the voltmeter went up to around 14 volts took the bike out for a ride a couple times and went to get fuel and it wouldn't start back up. got a clicking sound from under the seat. Got the bike restarted and drove it home. Pulled the battery and gave it a charge and it started up again.

Does this sound like a rectifier problem??

How many volts does the battery show when disconnected? It should be around 12.4 maybe 12.6 If its 12.0 or less........ its probably a bad battery.
