Default Starting Issue

So I went on vacation for about 10 days, I came back and my bike started fine. Its an 03 600rr. I rode for about 15 minutes and stopped. Tried starting the bike no more than 5 minutes after riding and It wouldnt turn over. When I hit the start button it would almost start and then the gauges would fade and then nothing. If I held the button the same would happen followed by a clicking noise. Im not too sure what it is. I would think after a 15 minute ride the battery would be charged enough for a quick stop and start, so thats why Im thinkin its something other than the battery. Maybe a bad starter or alternator....? any one have any ideas. Im going to take the battery out and have it tested just to see.

It sounds like the battery is dead. Could be a bad battery, or alternator like you said. I'd have the battery tested first, then move on from there. just my .02.

I guess i should read the entire post before i reply. But as soon as i read that about the clicking, i knew i had the same thing a couple of months ago. Maybe it's the battery since that is the easiest to get to and replace. I always start w/ the easiest and work back. Good luck

the battery is low on it's charge. charge it up and have it load tested. while it's in, do a diagnostic check on the charging system. 03-04 CBR600RRs have been found to have faulty Regulator/rectifier modules, so i'd start there. test it to make sure it functions properly. i doubt it's your stator.

So I got the battery tested and they told me it was kicked. Wasnt holding a charge. Bought a new battery for $100. Bikes starting up fine now. Hopefully its not a charging problem and this battery goes because of it.
