Default Is this a "starter" problem?

So I got stationed at the "stumps" in socal and I shipped my bike back in my cali residence as well. I get to go home almost every weekend and I usually ride my bike or let it run for at least 20-30 min. Last saturday however, was different: I was busy with putting up xmas lights and shopping for gifts. I didn't get a chance to start or even ride my bike. When I got home, I started her for a bit but I remembered that my little niece was already sleeping so I turned it off for the night. The next morning, I was going for a little ride through the canyons of little tujunga and all of a sudden, my bike wont start!!

I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I can hear the fuel prime. All I hear is multiple clicking and it dies down eventually (battery draining and I can see that my headlights are also dying). It doesnt turn over or crank.

heres what I know
1) Has fuel
2) All oil and lube was replaced
3) Batt was fully charged
4) Im not sure about the sparkies at all since I just put some new ones there.

could it be the starter? I've already looked into buying a starter. Price is not bad but I notice that a lot of them are rebuild and not brand new. If you guys got a different theory, please let me know.

very respectfully
Leon

Batteries take a pretty big hit when you leave them a time & then just let the bike run, they don't really get any top up unless your let it idle above 2000 RPM & even letting it idle for 30 minutes is only a tickle, this also depends on the age of the battery, because an RS one will not hold a charge for long.
The lights dimming on you & "clicking" while your trying to start her, (sounds like a typical battery problem), & I suspect your battery is probably buggered. Before you go getting a new startor, if you don't have a light switch (like me) then pop the fuse for the lights, charge the battery again & give it another try.
What other indicators have you had that you suspect a bad starter?

@pacemaker

Thanks for the suggestion friend! I will give the battery issue another go this weekend. The only reason why I suspect is the starter is because most of my friends that I've consulted said the same. I can pick up a use starter for less than $50. if indeed that its just a battery problem, then I will just re-sell the starter and or keep it for parts. Anyway, thanks again for replying!
