Default speedometer problum

my speedometer dosent start working untill the bike is at operating tempeture(cooling fan kicks on). untill then it just reads 0. an ideas on what could cause this? how do i fix it ?

That's not an easy one as they are both seperated uint's ... And the only place I can think of is the the back of the clock's ... { Unless some else can come up with a better idea ] ... The only thing I can think of is some kind of coroshion on the PCB board ... It's not as bad as it first sound's ... You can get an Elect cleaner that is in a spray can ... It's cheap and could make the fix ... Even if it don't make the fix it will help to keep that part of the elect cleaner ...

My 94 F2 speedometer reads 0 till I tap on it. mechanic couldnt tell me why but my philosophy is, if something doesnt work try hitting it.

I have a 05 cbr 1000 and once my whole dash wouldnt work, i took it to the dealership and they replaced 2 fuses that were bad. I rode it in the pouring rain a few days before it happened, so I dunno if its the same for you but check the fuses.
