Default Spark Plugs

I have a 1987 Honda CBR 600 F1. After painting the frame which meant taking it all apart and putting it back I can't get a spark at the spark plugs. I've tested the voltage all the way up to the ignition coils. Its reads a steady 12V until I attempt starting it where it will drop to 5-7V. I've been told that is what the bike is supposed to do. Would that mean that the ignition coils are faulty? Any help is appreciated as this is my first bike and I'm working off shop manuals.

Well, I'd wager you just put something back together wrong, or the battery is kaput. Check your connections. It's unlikely something failed during your painting of the bike.

Nice ^

Check your switches. Start at the kill switch. Does this model have a stand switch? Im sorry Im not sure but if there is voltage up to the coils then I highly doubt they just decided to go (especially all 4) during a simple removal. Unless you put a little to much back into gettin em off Because it sounds to me that something is purposely killing that spark, hence my theory of a simple switch stopping the current??

Is the tilt sensor installed correctly or is it upside down? It wouldn't be the first time someone did that.

No side stand switch or tilt sensor on this bike.

But it also wouldn't be the first time someone left the kill switch on and tried to start...
