Noob Chain Questions (600 F4)
So, I just bought this bike and noticed there are some things that need to be fixed. Most of which I will take care of later (cosmetic things) but I noticed the chain is pretty loose and is almost at the "replace chain" marking on the rear sprocket. I am totally new to bikes and just wondering what is recommended. Is it time to just replace the whole chain?
If so, would this be a decent place to get one?

Is there anything I should know before doing this? It'll be my first operation on my bike (and any bike for that matter).
Where does everyone here get their parts?
Thanks everyone!

When you replace the chain, get a new sprocket set as well. They both wear together and if you don't replace the sprockets at the same time, the new chain will wear quicker and you will get far less service life.
I've bought all my chains from eBay, and many of the sellers on eBay are actual retail sellers.

You are going to accelerate a lot quicker, but you will find yourself at like 7 grand on the highway. When I got my F2, it was 1 down in the front and I hated it. I was shifting out of first at like 10mph. Seemed like it ran out of gear quick on the street as I didn't want to shift at 6,000. I normally try to shift at 3-4,000 locally.
You will also need a speedohealer or speedoDRD to fix your speedometer error that occurs when you change your sprockets to a different ratio.

Hmmm, well I think I'll just go with a OEM 16t 45t 525 RK chain and sprocket set I found for pretty cheap. If I want to, I'll change things up later with the gears when I have more money to put into my bike.
I've noticed people seem to favor DID chains and Vortex sprockets. Are they kind of the standard of good quality?
Thanks for the help.

I was about to order a chain/sprocket set, but I noticed the most new sprockets labelled for f4's come with 6 bolts, but the one on my bike right now has 5. Should I just buy the three pieces (front, rear sprockets, chain) separately, just to make sure everything will fit?
