Does anyone know why I might be hearing a whinning sound when I put it in first and pull the clutch... also going from 2nd to 1st can be a rough transition on my bike... and when I go from neutral to first the bike kicks a little as it goes into gear, is that normal? [:-]

 

Sounds like mine: an 04 f4i.

I think its normal transmission noise.

 

I've hear and feel the same things on my RR. I was also wondering about the whinning sound, but as far as going from 2nd to 1st, just don't let the clutch out too fast (learn to blip cuz that helps a bit, at least in the higher gears), and the neutral to first is normal.

If you have an F3 thats all normal.
