Default smoke and plactic burning smell '06 cbr1000

hi,
i just rode in to work about 37miles and parked my bike, shut off the engine and left, after a few steps i turned back to take a look of the bike, i noticed abit of smoke coming from the engine area, i went back for a closer inspection i could smell like burning plastic, but after a few seconds it was all gone no smell and no smoke. Is this something i have to worry about? ( sorry for the bad grammar)

smoke and a bike that you rode 37 miles to work is no good. front wheel possibly picked something up off the road and threw it into the exhaust header. have you checked there yet?

This happened to me; it was the wire harness from the rectifier/regulator to the stator coil. I just hardwired it and all was well.

Here's my thread on the wiring. http://www.fireblades.org/forums/hon...wire-help.html

If it was me, I would check the headers first and look for plastic bag remains (usually the culprit). Anything plastic could smoke it up. Then pop the left side fairing and check the wiring harness.
