Default Smaller bike?

Got a question for thought.
I use to have a CBR 600F4i which I lowered it 3" so my wife could ride it. It actually looked pretty cool. Anyway, we sold the bike and bought a new car. Now I own a CBR 954. The misses wont ride it because its to high/powerful for her (Whatever). So next year we are going to buy another bike just for her. The only problem is everything out there is to high, the lowered 600 I had before was even to high???? Now, the buell blast has a seat height of 25" but its not the bike of choice. With all the female riders that are out riding these days why havnt motorcycle companies produced a line of bikes that cater to smaller persons such as females? Or have they and I just dont know about it?

Here is a couple of pictures of my old 600 F4i lowered 3 inches, I think it looks sweet!

That's a bit of a twirl you got there. There are a lot of females on my base that I think are too short for their bikes but they ride with the best of 'em. Every female on this base is either on cruiser or Honda CBR 600RR.

How tall is your wife? My wife is about 5'7" maybe 5'6" and will be riding the 600RR next year with out lowering it. She is pretty confident she can handle it. Her "beginner" back ground is typical. She grew up on dirt bikes and four wheelers so I bought a used beat up 91 Katana for her to learn how to ride on the street. I bought it for $400 and it runs! It might need at the most another $400 to make it tip top, I couldn't pass it up.

Ya'll leave us 5'7" people alone. But now that he mentions it...i'm only 5'7" and I ride a 929 with stock settings. It's not hard at all. Maybe it's a mind thing....

I agree about it being a mind thing.....I guess I will have to figure something out, that the Buell Blast might be the best way to go.
If anyone knows of a bike that can be lowered more than 3 inches please let me know.

Nope, it was just right in the front, the only problem I encountered was where the lowering link was installed, it bottomed out with 2 riders on the swingarm or engine, (I cant remember) but only happen when I went over bumps, ie: my drive way enterance. So I had to raise it up an inch. It was fine with 1 rider, no bottoming out at 3 inches lower. Pissed me off, anyway it was pretty cool looking after it was done. I found that it handled better in the corners, must of been because of the lower center of gravity.

Well im not female and muscle mass may have something to do with the comfort level on the bike, however, im only 5'5 with a 30" inseam. I know many short riders, both male and female alike. Ill agree to some extent it is a mind issue...but in reality its a matter of comfort. If your not comfortable on a bike it becomes dangerous. I have never been able to flat foot any bike I have ridden, and i dont expect i ever will. However, I'm perfectly comfortable on them. The way I see it, the only time seat height becomes an issue is at a stand still, and as long as I can hold the bike vertical enough to not fall over..there really is no issue. I can barely hit both ***** of my feet on the ground on my 99 F4..but i love every minute of riding it. The bottom line is if shes not comfortable with not having both her feet planted on the ground then any bike she cant do that is not a good idea. The more confidence she gains in her own riding and ability to hold the bike up the less she will be concerned with having both feet flat on the ground at a stop. As for lowering....I could lower my bike, but, im not trading ground clearance to be able to put my feet down.

I bought my 5' wife a Honda 599.. The 599 has the CBR F3 motor in an unfaired chassis. This bike works great for her. I took 1 1/2 inches of foam out of the seat. Then lowered the rear suspension about 1 1/2" by re-drilling the rear lower shock mount hole about 3/4" higher. Of course I had to weld up the original hole and grind off the additional bracket material. I road her bike hard this weekend it handles great. I only touched the pegs once. It never bottomed out. I do have to buy an original seat because without the foam I can't lean off.
