Default Slow Throttle Response

I can definately tell that its sluggish when blipping on downshifts. Compared to my buds '04 RR, man its a rock. His response is so snappy. I know it got dual injectors, but it's a HUGE difference. The secondary injectors don't even come on until like 5k anyways. Anyone have any things I should take a look at. I even got a comment that someone saw a little smoke coming from my pipe. I've been switching gas. In there now is 87 octane. Anyone think I should stick w. 93 or would it not make a difference?

Sorry if cryptic/ dumb/ squid question.

Is your PC tuned right? How is your bike compared to other F4is? My guess is 93 wouldn't change anything, but you could find out for $8. Good luck.

I haven't the slightest friggin' clue. W/O a dyno, how would I know? I guess that's what I'm really trying to figure out, and why I've been experimenting w. fuels.

Three things I would check. First check the ignition timing. Doesn't cost a dime, if you have an old timing light. Second, sync the throttle bodies, just like syncing carbs. You'll need a $50 carb synchronizer (also works on fuel injection). Third, check the fuel pump and and fuel filter as per the manual. If the timing is correct, the injectors all synced, and the pump can get fuel to the combustion chamber, you will have response like the RR.

Seriously??? If that's the case then it would be worth it.

BTW- Just read on the Dynojet site that the PCIIIr has ignition timing. When I look at my map what should I be looking for? I think I will try this tonight or tomorrow.

mine seems to be doing exactly as you describe and I only have 8000 miles. I noticed the chain is a little bit looser than specified in the manual so hopefully that will make a difference but it seems like more of an engine problem.. please reply once you check your timing

After comparing w. my buddy's F4i, my throttle response MAY be normal. I'm still not convinced, so I'll check the air filter tonight and let you know. I also trying to get a better map for my bike, as Dynojet doesn't have one on their website for my configuration.
