Default side stand signal to F4i gauges....why?

i just put in some F4i gauges on my F3, and was curious as to what the point of having a side stand signal going to the dash, when there is no side stand light. Since it doesnt seem to actually do anything I may end up wiring it the FI light so I still have a visual indicator.

it may or may not do anything? not sure. there is no indicator, but the engine will cut out if in gear and the stand is down which I am sure you are aware.

have you tried it without that wire hooked up?

not yet. On the F3 wiring diagram, the wire going to the dash is only for the side stand indicator... on the F4i wiring diagram, it looks basically the same, except there isnt an actual indicator... makes me wonder if they left it in there because they forgot to get rid of it when they got rid of the indicator light.
