service versus owners manual
I have the service manual for my F2 and a copy of the common service manual. Am I mistaken in thinking there are also CBR owners manual out there? If they exist and anyone has one I'd be interested to know what info is in them and if they are useful.
If it's like most owner manuals it's just a booklet, showing where the key goes and
service schedule template. It will just list the very basics for new owners, tire pressure, etc.
If you want it for the memorabila value it's ok, but the service manual has all the
info you need for actual work performed on the bike.

There's is definitely an owners manual, every new bike comes with one.
It's a rather substantial little book that explain every functional aspect of the bike and how to use it as well as basic subjects relating to proper riding. It details service intervals and maintenance as well a all general specifications for the bike and it's serviceable parts.
If you have a "service" manual already then you pretty much have all that and more. However the service manual generally doesn't cover much in regards to actual "use" of the bike and it's features and accessories.
For me, I have all the original paperwork and docs for all my bikes but primarily for sentimental reasons and knowing "it's all there", there's hardly any info in there I 'need'. I'm pretty sure I've read every one cover to cover at one point during the honeymoon phase.

Thanks for the info guys. I mainly wandered if the owners manual had anything useful in it that would be worth having a copy. From what you are telling me though, I'm fine with the service manual that I already have.
My 94 f2 came with an owners manual.
But..its in Italian, Spanish and some other languages.
You can get some meaning out of it with a little try...
If anyone is interested i could scan a pdf...
