seems to be slipping out of gear not under load
Having a weird problem with my 87 600 Hurricane. It seems to slip out of gear and then go back in for no reason.
The odd thing is that it's not under load (steady speed) and not accelerating. Not even going up a hill. You're
just riding along and it free revs, like someone grabbed the clutch, and then, when i left off the throttle even slightly, it
is fine again. The bike only does this, so far, when i'm on the highway at a higher speed but doesnt do it at any certain speed.
Really got me scratching my head.
Other than this, the bike runs exceptionally well. It's chain and sprockets are just barely a week old.
Engine starts and runs exceptionally.
Trans seems to shift fine with no drama or problems.
The clutch feels fine taking off even on a hill.
I thought maybe the chain was slipping (it was garbage) and causing this but then it did it again a few days later even with the new
chain and sprockets.
Important to note that it doesnt do this everytime im out at a higer speed. It's very intermittent and i'm really stumped.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanx.
