Default San Diego DIY

Is there anyone in the San Diego area that has an impact wrench either electric or pneumatic that I could borrow for about 5 minutes? I even have the sockets. I need to remove two nuts, both requiring an impact wrench. I would be hauling my bike over and without removing the bike from the truck (if possible) loosening the two bolts and that's it. I'm trying to replace my shift star and ignition rotor and I cant really justify purchasing the whole shindig for those two things. I've tried tool rentals to no avail and I'm not taking it to a shop so they can charge my for such a small thing. It would be a great help and thanks for the replies.

Would the shops really charge you?

All the shops by me will loosen the bolts free.

I'm in the Valley though. If I was closer I would help, sorry.

If its worth a drive to south oc during the week or south riverside on the weekend, I will help you. Both places are just over the county line.

Thanks, I might just take you up on that offer. I had an idea while I was falling asleep, could I buy the wrench at home depot, use it and then return it? Or is that just F'ed up?

That's F'ed up IMO, but I'm sure it happens from time to time. If you buy it, just keep it. I'm sure you will have other uses for it in the future.

Or....take a drive.

If I can find it, I have an old school manual impact driver designed to be hand held and used with a hammer, acually works fairly well. I'll look tonight. What part of San Diego?

I'm an hour north of you. My 3/4 drive gun is all oiled up and ready to go.

Home Depot is a huge corporation. Don't feel bad that you bought something and returned it still in brand new condition. It would be messed up if it were a Mom & Pop shop and you returned it real used. (Don't know how used it could even get lol)
