Default The saga continues...

So I boughtanother F3 for my girlfriend. Noticed it had SS lines in the front, sick!

Anygay - as I was riding last night, I noticed the brake lever feels, well... "rusted." It's not rusted, but that's what it feels like. It's like the lever itself is rusted when you squeeze it - that's what it feels like. Also, the braking delivery feels in synch with that weird feeling in the levers... by that I mean that when you squeeze the lever and it's all choppy feeling, the brakes are choppy as well.

I talked a bit with a guy last night and he said maybe there was moisture in the lines. Hmm - never heard of that. Is that something I can test or do I just need to drain the fluid and start fresh?

There aren't any pinches in the lines, and the brakes are strong as hell. Just curious if anyone has heard of something similar? She's got a lot of work to go, but she'll get there. Then I can have my bike back because I just can't have my girlfriend rompin' around on this F3 just yet...

possibly air in the line. Just rebleed them and start fresh, probably not a bad idea to do on any used bike.

The bike doesn't look to be too rough. From the picture, it looks like to be mainly plastic. About the moisture in the brake lines, yes it can happen. Brake fluid attracts moisture and that is why you don't want to use an opened container that has been sitting on your self for the last ten years. Brake fluid will also attract moisture while in the system which is why flushing the brake system out isn’t a bad idea. Another note... that is pretty damn KUL that you have a significant other that rides!
