Default Running lights not working

I recently installed a LED intergrated tail light. I already installed front flush signal lights that have no running light( I knew that when I purchased them). The problem I'm having is that now there is no running light power to the rear either. I thought there was a problem with the new LED tail light I bought so I re-installed the old rear signal lights to see if the running lights would work and no luck, the blinkers work but no running lights. When the bike was stock with the front signals, I had running lights on all 4 signal lamps. So how do I get the running lights to work. I know they wont work for the front, that's fine but why is affecting the back?
please help, unsafe to ride at night.
Derek

Does the intergrated light come on and stay red, or is it off unless you hit the signals or brake?
