Default RPM's In Idle

Hey so I a 94 F2 and I have noticed that my RPM's fluctuate between about 1500 and 1800 RPM's while idling. Anyone know what might cause this?

If it were a car I would guess the alternator kicking in to charge the battery. Might want to check your battery and see if it is holding a charge well. *shrug*

I had an F2 that used to idle like that. I had no idea on history of the machine so I did a full blown tune-up on it, but the only thing I couldn't do was synchro the carbs cause I didn't have a 4-port monometer. I know there are jigs out there for it but it was cheaper to just have it done. Anyway, the carb synchro did the trick, ran smooth as can be. Only rough part was on start-up, choke on full, on a cold morning, but once it warmed up all was fine.

Ya I had my carbs synched like a couple months, and I got a new battery a couple months ago as well, but i would not be suprised it they came right out of synch, i may try a home made synchonizer, it is too expensive to take back to the shop. thank you for the advice
