Default idle RPM's ...

At what RPM should my bike idle at when i start it.Right now i have it adjusted to 1k rpm at idle, should it be closer to 2k ?

From what i've seen on you tube and other videos of bike started right off it sounds like their running around 2k rpm at idle, though this may be with the choke engaged.

first off what bike do you have? second you should just check the manual. 2k is really to high for idle. Mine is set at 800-1k

Got a 99 cbr f4 not orginal owner probably closer to 20th if i had to guess, do not have a manual. Only reason i was thinking 2k is because of the videos i've seen were people are starting their bikes and the sound of the pipe. All the ones i have seen are reving pretty high when first busted off. Under 1k my bike almost almost dies at idle.

idle should be roughly 1200rpm on most any motor, regardless of what it is. I think theres normally a sticker under your seat that says what to set the idle to.

1300RPM +/- 100RPM per service manual.

Also, are you taking about cold idle or warm idle? When you first start up cold, the bike usually idles high. If my choke is on, it usually idles at 1700, then a couple minutes later it's at 2300, then a few minutes later 3000. Once it's warm, she sits at 1400.
