The "Right" Seafoam
Need to get some, but none of the seafoam I find lists motorcycles. It says "small engine applications," but i don't want to risk it with a "probably." Is all seafoam the same? Anyone know of an automotive chain store that sells it?
It's all the same stuff (smells like rubbing alcohol). I've ran a few tanks of it through my bike using the 1oz. per gallon ratio, so the bike takes 5oz. Most auto stores and some Walmarts carry it, but it's pricy at $8.
As an alternative, some people report good results with Techron.

yeah all seafoam is the same. there shouldn't be a motorcycle specific seafoam.
in my yamaha xj600 i had, i would fill a shot glass and open a vacuum line and let it suck the entire shot out. works REALLY well.
i've use it plenty of times in my other bikes. i plan on using it for the first time in my F3. we'll see how that goes!

Actually there are 2 kinds of seafoam which its pretty noticeable which is which. One is for the trans and the other is for engines. Autozone sells them both, so watch the labels. But I don't see why it would make a difference between a bike and a go cart, or lawn mower? A small engine is a small engine.
Be warned :
I used some in my bike few weeks ago ( 20600 miles on her ) and now its running noticeably more shaky when rolling off throttle... I went to an Hi-Po Auto College and few my teachers use to tell me that additives like this can be bad, freeing up carbon and other sentiment that has helped keep compression and other sorts in order over time.
Now I am sure that i am getting blow buy in one or more cylinders.

That's absolutly true. A lot of people look at it as "seafoam broke my bike," while in reality, it just made the (potential) problem more obvious to locate and repair. Unfortunately, most people are using the stuff to DODGE a repair, so it's kindof offputting. I only have 10k on the bike, and KNOW my problem is a buildup of oil in the 4th cylinder.
