Default Rev limiter on 99 600 f4 (is there one?)

Does my 99 600 f4 have a rev limiter and if so what RPM does it limit my rev to?

I was doing some practice wheelies today and while ridding in 1st gear i was doing the old punch it, let front end fall, than punch it again to pull the front tire off the ground, at a high rpm (above 6) After a few consecutive failed attempts, i pulled in my clutch and up shifted, and before letting clutch out i noticed the rpms where on there way down from around 13.5 or 14 (in the red) im unsure of speed, around 50 id guess? I assume that since i pulled the clutch and then looked down it must have been a bit higher before i looked...anyways just wondering if i do have a little protection from with a rev limiter and if i may have damaged anything...

(I DID NOT MEAN TO HIT RED LINE i just didn't realize how fast i was going and how hi the rpms were...oops :P)

Thanks much!

I wanna say it's around 13,800 rpms. Be careful on bouncing the RPMS that high. Racing the engine to that RPM is okay, but letting it bounce or hang out in those higher RPMS isn't too friendly on the motor.

yea the 2000 is still a carbed motor same as 99, second that brveagle i wasnt payin close enough attention a few times when i was new to riding and bounced the limiter but just barely and shifted or let off as soon as i heard the rpm bounce

Alright, sounds good guys, thanks, im thinking i must have got right about to that rpm n noticed it wasnt normal n thats when i let off the gas and looked down. I havent noticed any problems or noise since than and i rode 100 miles the other day so i dont think i did any harm, plus thats the first time my bike has prolly ever been up that high in rpms, i usually stick close to the 4-9 range lol
