Default Replacing Chain Adjuster Bolt

My right chain adjuster bolt is stripped, therefor preventing my from tightening my chain. I already ordered a new one, but I am not sure how to go about replacing it, or if it would just be better to take it to a shop. Any information is greatly appreciated. BTW it is on a 98 900RR if that makes any difference.

shouldnt be to hard hopefully the bolt is just stripped and not the threads inside the swing arm otherwise you'll prob have to make new threads which sometimes means gettin a bigger bolt, but if you put the bike up on a rear stand loosen the chain take out the axle and the rear tire obviously will come off then, the chain aduster block should just pop right out and you can take out the old and put in the new

Any ideas on how to do this without a rear stand? I know I need to get one, but I won't have the money for a while.

You're not going to be able to do it without getting the rear tire off the ground as the rear axle runs through the chain tensioner and you'll have to partially remove the axle to swap it out.
