Default Remove Gas Tank Cover/Warranty

I wan wondering how to remove the gas tank cover on a 2006 600RR. I took of the allen bolts by the triple tree and from under the seat, but its still really on there. Do I have to remove the fairings too? Also, if I run wires off the battery, and drill a hole in the fairing to mount a switch, will this void the warranty? Sorry for the bothers guys/gals. Thanks in advance!!!

I dunno about the 600RR, but that's all that was required on my 1000RR.

I don't see how running wires or adding switches can void your warranty unless your hooking up something that's gonna fry your electrical system or over tax your charging system.

Well, once you removed those screws, was there still a little fighting to get it off, or did it just raise off? All I wanted to do was put in a switch much like you did for your garage door opener, but it would ppwer a flipper. Thanks !!!

Yeah, it was just kinda stuck a little bit. I bought the service manual and it just said there were those 4 bolts, so I tugged on it a bit and it popped off. There's a pretty good seal around the gas cap/filler. It was snug going back on too.

Well keep in mind, mine is the 1KRR, so the 600RR may be different.
