rejeting my carbs
Hey everyone,
I was gonna pay to have someone rejet my carbs for me but i'm tight on money these days and i didn't want to pay somebody to do it when i'm perfectly capable of doing it my self. Ok so here it goes. I bought a dyno jet kit and started reading the instructions. It seemed pretty easy and straight forward. I talked with another friend of mine and he just bought a dyno jet kit for his bike too. His instructions read almost the same as mine. I have a CBR F4 and he has ZX-6E. I thought that was a little wierd. I just figured they are just base settings to go by. Has anyone out there ever jetted a CBR F4 and if you have do you remember what settings you had everything set to. Like how many turns out on the pilot jet adjustment screw. Where to put the clip on needles. Stuff like that. The is my first carb rejet. What a way to start! Can anyone give me any insight? thanks.

RE: rejeting my carbs
i rejetted the carbs in both a zx6e and a zx9
it was a lot of trial and error and a lot of taking the carbs on and off.
of course i am no expert either.
jet, install, run, check plugs, too rich or too lean and you have to take it all back apart and do it again
its worth IMO to pay someone who has experience to do it for you. they probably already know the correct setting on the needles without all the trial and error.
also did you look into the Factory jet kit so you dont have to drill the carbs.
